Group Chat

You can now invite multiple people to chat with you in a group using the Google Talk Gadget. When you’re chatting with a friend, just click on the “Group Chat” button to invite one or more friends to join the conversation.

New Emoticons :-)

We’ve added a nifty emoticon picker to the Google Talk Gadget, which lets you show off your :-) and your :P in three different, animated styles. Just click on the smiley in the lower right corner of your chat tab to check them out and pick your favorite look.

Google Maps knows my Mobile Location

November 28th, 2007 by elias.kai

The new “My Location” (beta) feature on Google Maps for mobile helps you know where you are on the map, even if your phone doesn’t have GPS. Just press [0] to move the map to your approximate location. Save time and tedious keystrokes finding where you are, what’s around you, and how to get there.

One of the easiest tool is to view the nearest pubs, clubs, pizzerias and get to call their number directly from the Google Maps.
I tried it already in Stockholm, London, Paris and New York.

Google Webmasters

Why should I report paid links to Google?

Old
“

Buying links in order to improve a site's ranking is in violation of Google's webmaster

guidelines and can negatively impact a site's ranking in search results.

New 22 - 10 - 2007 (I think since July 2007)
“

Not all paid links violate our guidelines. Buying and selling links is a normal part of the economy of the web when done for advertising purposes, and not for manipulation of search results. Links purchased for advertising should be designated as such. This can be done in several ways, such as:

* Adding a rel=”nofollow” attribute to the tag
* Redirecting the links to an intermediate page that is blocked from search engines with a robots.txt file

Gmail: Email from Google

For the last 3 years Google had on their Gmail.com page Welcome to Gmail as title.
Today, if you visit www.gmail.com you will be able to read Gmail: Email from Google. What was the reason behind this decision?

It can be a trustworthy factor and users will associate gmail.com to Google or it can be a legal seo solution.

Thanks God they did not use the word Gmail: A Hot mail from Google, watch Google trends for these terms:
gmail,email,e-mail,hotmail,yahoo mail
