March 29th, 2008 by elias.kai

Here goes a collection of Twitter apps (applications) that I thought it might be usefull for you and if I have forgotten any, please let me know.

www.twitter.com

Twitter in Plain English from leelefever on Vimeo.

Twitter Stars from Marloes Veldhuizen on Vimeo.

Search Twitter

Tweetscan – search Tweets from anyone or limit to a particular user.

TwitterWho – “batch people search”, find people more efficiently.

TwitDir – a Twitter directory, search for fellow Twitterers.

Quotably – track discussions on Twitter by username.

Tweet from your desktop / browser

Twitterfox – Firefox add-on for Twitter. You get a little icon on your status bar that when clicked lets you read new Tweets and send them. Less obtrusive than other Twitter clients.

Twitbin – Firefox extension that puts a Twitter sidebar in your browser.

Twitterbar – Firefox extension which allows you to post to Twitter directly from your Firefox address bar.

Twhirl and Snitter – desktop clients for Windows and Mac.

Twitterific – Twitter client for Mac from Iconfactory.

gTwitter – Twitter client for Linux, pretty basic, but it’s better than nothing.

Witty – Twitter client for Vista.

Spaz – opensource Twitter client for Mac, Windows and Linux (Hat trick!).

Twitku – read and post to Twitter, Jaiku and Pownce from the same page. There are lots of other services that let you post to multiple microblogging sites e.g. HelloTxt and Ping.fm (private beta), plus some of the desktop clients like Twhirl let you do this too.

Tweeting links

Tweetburner – shorten links and track what happens to them.

Tweetl – shorten URLs

Tweet your pics

SnapTweet – post your latest Flickr pics to Twitter.

Twitxr – share photos on Twixtr and automatically update your Twitter, Facebook and Flickr.

TwitPic – upload your pictures to TwitPic, add your comment and send to Twitter.

Share files / media

Twittershare – cutting in on Pownce’s territory, Twittershare allows you to share files over Twitter (maximum 10MB). Available as a download for Mac and Windows, but there is also a no download web interface option.

Tweetr – Twitter client that lets your send files (up to 10 MB)

Twit+ – share pictures, videos and files over Twitter.

Twiddeo – Twitter with video. “Don’t just tell people what you are doing, show them!”

TwitterGram – create audio Tweets.

Other ways to Tweet

Twitter IM – Twitter via Windows Live Messenger or ICQ.

TwitterBerry – Twitter for your Blackberry.

OutTwit – download that lets you update your Twitter from Outlook.

EmailTwitter – post updates to Twitter via email enabled mobile phones, without SMS charges.

jTwitter – Java app for your phone that lets your update Twitter without using SMS.

Twitter Mail – update Twitter via email.

Monitor Twitter

Twitter Digest – another way to follow your favourite users, select who you want to follow and recieve a daily update via RSS or visit your unique web page.

Twitter Stats – generate graphs showing your Twitter usage patterns.

Visual Twitter – send your camera phone pics to Visual Twitter.

Twitter Buzz – view the most popular Twitter links for the last day.

Twitter Poster – “a visual representation of the degree of influence of the Twitter users”.

Tweetmeme – “put simply it watches what is going on within twitter and picks up anyone posting links to content. We then track how many other mentions of the same content are made (and how influential they are.) and present them in a simple format.”

Twemes – “Twemes.com follows public Twitter.com tweets (messages) that have embedded tags that start with a # character. These are sometimes called hashtags but we like to use the term twemes.”

Twitter Linkr – monitor links on Twitter.

Twittermeter – monitor word frequency on Twitter.

Twitter100 – view up to 100 of your followers all on one page.

Twitter Karma – nice way to display friends and followers all on one page.

Twittertale – republishes all those Tweets where you have used bad words. Shame on you.

Play on Twitter

Twittories – collaborative story-telling 140 characters at a time, an interesting experiment (not sure if it’s still going).

Tweetgift – give gifts to your fellow Twitterers.

Twaction – “turn Tweets into actions”.

Twitter Comic Book – Twitter and Flickr mashup.

Wordy Birdie – Twitter based word frequency quessing game. Sounds like fun (?)

Useful twitter stuff

Google Reader to Twitter – greasemonkey script allowing you to Tweet posts from your GReader.

Twitsig – convert Tweets into images and use as signatures.

Twitter Timer – send Twitter Timer a direct message and it will Tweet you back a reminder.

TwitThis – add a button to you blog posts that lets people Tweet them.

Twitterlights – highlight and Tweet.

Twitzer – cheat the 140 character limit with this Firefox extension.

And probably one of the most useful …

Twitterfeed – Tweet RSS feed.

And a few more things I didn’t know where to put …

Twimbler – Tumblelog you update via Twitter.

Inner Twitter – achieve enlightenment.

TweetWhatYouEat – mmmm… set up a Twitter food diary (or do something more interesting).

March 29th, 2008 by elias.kai

In search of great songs and the thrilling time where your ears are at top.

Music search sites such as SearchListen.com, last.fm, ListenArabic.com, Deezer.com, Seeqpod.com, Skreemr, Mixwit.com, Songza.com are a hype but yet the most exciting work mission where you sit, work and listen to your best music albums without a single download of any kind of software.

Would these events and behavior move to the mobile world with a free economy for mp3 files?

Always remember when music turns social you can always inflict your musical tastes on others around the world from Arabic, Indie, tektonik to tock and techno..

March 27th, 2008 by elias.kai

Now, it is possible to check your videos on youtube.com and see where did visitors and audience came from to watch your remarkable video content. You can go and find these online video stats and metrics by clicking under the “About this Video” button under My account > Videos, Favorites, Playlists > Manage my Videos.

But wait, this does not show when someone paused or stopped watching the online video or if he was playing the video by browsing some other pages. All real time data are very important to any social or marketing guru to get. Spy on your Youtube.com Audience and know when your movie became popular.

Time will come probably and Youtube.com + Google Analytics will move things much further to attract more advertisers that can check where each dollar is spend.
