Domain Age matters

February 25th, 2007 by elias.kai

If you are watching and auditing enough the google serps, you can realize that domain age is like gold.

Some recent research I have done is to pick a popular keyword and search for it on google.com and go through the top 30 results.
Do this procedure for a year and check the new coming domains into the serps and you can realize that some domain were old enough and sometime irrelevant to the query and positioned top 10.

How come Google is taking into consideration the domain age as an important factor ?

Think of it in this way. Say you are a lawyer in a small city and you have been practicing for 20 years, everyone got to know about you enough if you were successful or not, so people’s trust towards you and your act is high enough to you as a person.

Let’s say you will change your profession and become a business advisor or a singer, same people from your same generation will keep to know about you and they can keep trusting you as a person.

Same goes to Google ranking, you build trust and popularity by years unless you do something really appreciate and you reach the mass, in this case youtube.com is a great example.

Some keywords tested: poker, online poker, casino, online casino, plumbers london, lawyers florida, and some music sites.
So guys, what are you waiting for ? do you know what is your next step ?
